Subscription & billing

How do I cancel my subscription?

TradieMate subscriptions are managed through your Apple ID, not within the app. To cancel:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone
  2. Tap your name at the top
  3. Tap Subscriptions
  4. Tap TradieMate
  5. Tap Cancel Subscription

You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. No further charges will be made.

How does the free trial work?

New users get a one-month free trial with full access to every feature. You can cancel any time during the trial in your Apple ID Subscriptions settings — you won't be charged.

If you don't cancel, your subscription will start automatically at the end of the trial at £24.99 per month.

How do I get a refund?

Refunds for TradieMate are handled by Apple, not by us. To request a refund:

  1. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com
  2. Sign in with your Apple ID
  3. Find the TradieMate charge and follow the prompts

If you have a billing concern we should know about, drop us a note at hello@tradie-mate.co.uk too — we like to hear about it even if Apple is the one issuing the refund.

Getting started

I can't sign in / I'm not getting the verification code

TradieMate signs you in with a six-digit code emailed to you. If the code isn't arriving:

  • Check your spam or junk folder
  • Make sure you typed the email address correctly
  • Wait 60 seconds and tap "Resend code"
  • Add hello@tradie-mate.co.uk to your contacts so future emails don't get filtered

How do I connect Stripe to take card payments?

Open the Menu tab in the app and tap Set up payments. You'll be redirected to Stripe to create your account and verify your identity. Once verified (usually within minutes), you can attach payment links to invoices automatically.

You manage your bank details, payout schedule, and tax info directly in your Stripe Dashboard — TradieMate doesn't see or store any of that.

How does AI quoting work?

When you create a job and tap Generate Quote, your job description and trade type are sent to an AI service (Claude by Anthropic). It returns a professional quote with line items and a total in about 30 seconds. You can edit any line item or the total before sending it to your customer.

We don't send your customers' names, addresses, or contact details to the AI service.

Day to day

My customer didn't receive their WhatsApp invoice

A few things to check:

  • Make sure their phone number is saved in international format (e.g. +44 7XXX XXXXXX, not 07XXX XXXXXX)
  • Confirm they have WhatsApp installed and active on that number
  • If WhatsApp delivery fails, TradieMate automatically falls back to sending the invoice by email — check the customer's communication log on their record

How do I turn off the automatic chase messages?

In the Menu tab, scroll to Automations and toggle "Chase overdue invoices" off. The chase messages stop immediately. You can turn them back on at any time.

Can I import my customers from a spreadsheet?

Yes. In the Customers tab, tap the menu icon in the top right and choose Import from CSV. We'll preview the import and let you map columns before anything is added. Duplicates (matched by phone number) are skipped automatically.

Your data & privacy

How do I export my data?

Email us at legal@tradie-mate.co.uk with the subject "Data export request". We'll send you a copy of your account, customer, job, and invoice data in CSV format within 30 days, in line with your rights under UK GDPR.

How do I delete my account?

You can delete your account at any time from Menu > Edit Profile > Delete Account, or by emailing legal@tradie-mate.co.uk. Your account, customer records, and job data are permanently deleted within 30 days. Financial records required for HMRC compliance are retained for 7 years and then deleted.

Cancelling your Apple subscription does not delete your TradieMate account — those are separate actions.

How is my data protected?

All data is encrypted in transit and at rest, hosted on UK/EU servers, and protected by row-level security policies that prevent any other tradesperson from seeing your records. Payment data is handled by Stripe (PCI DSS Level 1 certified) and GoCardless — TradieMate never stores card or bank account numbers.
